Cee Belolan
Cee holds joy as a central value in their life. In addition to rekindling their theatre-kid joy as a part of PFL, Cee finds joy in music, dance, sewing, coziness, animals, cooking friends, and family (in ay and all combinations). They've been working in education for most of their adult life, but still keep rock-star as fall back career.
Caleb Christensen Fletcher
If Caleb’s love of mathematics, board games, and mythology isn’t voiced with you immediately then it definitely can be overheard in the hallways of Harpswell Coastal Academy. Not only have Caleb’s students endured his jokes for the past 7 years. Mel, Caleb’s lovely wife of 8 years, has also managed to survive the constant onslaught of bits, bad accents, and silly word play.
Matt Drewette-Card
Matt is a professional educator, podcaster, parent, partner, and pet(s) owner. He loves playing Dungeons and Dragons, guitar, and bad dad jokes (to which he contends there is no such thing as a “bad” dad joke). Matt has been performing with Playing For Laughs since Spring 2022 and is consistently surprised they keep letting him back in the building. Matt can be found playing on-stage and playing on the podcast.
Daniel Edgerton-Dickey
Daniel first appeared in the Young Company’s productions of Aladdin and Mathilda about fifteen years ago. He continued acting throughout middle school, high school, and college, and returned to The Theatre Project in fall 2023 as part of Playing for Laughs. His interests include D&D, computer science, video games, and other random interests.
Emma Grant
"Emma fights germs by day and chases laughs by night. She first fell for improv watching Whose Line Is It Anyway? with her dad and has been hooked on the joy of making things up ever since.
Sarah Hansen
Sarah started her acting career in 1973 where she had a strong supporting role as the donkey in Bremen town musicians; Longfellow school. She was part of Young People’s Theater from 78-82 learning all she could from Al Miller. Throughout the years Sarah was often seen in skits, plays, or comedy improv with her church family. Now that her kids are grown, Sarah has joined up with the Theater Project again in PFL.
Amanda LaFlamme
Amanda began improvising with Playing for Laughs when it started as online improv workshops. She likes to laugh during scenes and challenge the foremost tenets of improv (yes, AND sometimes no?). She enjoys attempting accents to make her two kids laugh, and has recently taken up running as a hobby. Her knees aren't happy about it.
Abben Maguire
Abben Maguire hails from Richmond Maine and is the oldest of six kids, but not the smartest. If you have ever met someone who is easily confused by such things as loud noises, crowds, and simple instructions, chances are it was Abben. "I've always been interested in performing" says Maguire, "Even as a kid, I used to wait, what's that on the ground? Oh... oh no! [EXPLOSION]" Abben was thirty six years old.
Becky Paradis
"Becky is a high school English teacher by day, theatre devotee by night, and full-time pursuer of life’s side quests. She’s always looking for laughter in the plot twists, magic in the everyday, and stories in unexpected places—even if it takes a little improvisation to see it. “Unscripted Chaos” is her middle name. Well… actually, it’s “Joy,” but same thing, right?
Roger Powers
"Roger Scott Powers is excited to be joining Playing for Laughs, having studied improv some years ago with the Baltimore Improv Group (B.I.G.). He also has performed locally with Midcoast Youth Theater (Bye, Bye, Birdie) and at the Chocolate Church (Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap). Roger is a Presbyterian minister who has served congregations in Albuquerque, NM; Baltimore, MD; and Oakland, CA. He began writing short plays in 2022, and after some initial success he retired to Maine in 2023 to pursue his new calling as a playwright. Now a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America, his plays have been seen in festivals in Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, and New Mexico. Roger also enjoys singing, sailing, and playing golf. He lives in West Bath.
Nathan Speckman
"Nathan Speckman (he/him) is an incredibly extroverted introvert who loves a warm bed, hot tea and cool temperatures. When not engaging with those things, he's happy to play with other delightful weirdos on stage. P. S. Nathan is probably lactose intolerant but it would be alright if you offered him some cheese after the show.
Justin Williams
"Justin is thrilled to be joining Playing for Laughs this year! His improv journey began this summer during the group’s Art Walk series, and he hasn’t stopped since. A fan of both acting and musical theater, Justin recently appeared as the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz. Whether it’s belting out a show tune or diving into a wacky improv scene, Justin loves finding ways to spread laughter and joy
